Wish List Wednesday - Splendette - Maiden Bangles

Have you guys seen the Splendette Maiden Bangles? They are lush! They're a copy of the classic mid century bangle style and come in a selection of candy colours, I think look good enough to eat.
As I'm sure you all know by now I am a total vintage magpie! Anything shiny and bright I love and the Maiden range is no exception. The bangles come in red, coral, butterscotch, leaf green and black, all with different carved looking effects on them. They have a real Bakelite look to them, Splendette call it 'Fakelite' and they do several other items in this style too.

Splendette is a one woman show based down in Bristol and has been on the go since early 2015, she sells online through her website, at vintage show and has a few wholesale outlets like Collectif. With a backfround in fashion design and buying and a love of all things mid century The Splendette tag line is 'Vintage style jewellery for modern day kittens'.

There are several ranges in the Splendette family, a huge selection of bangles as well as earrings, necklaces and brooches. They also sell Tiki style bangle stands for displaying and keep your collection in order.

So if you are looking for something to brighten up an outfit or add a little flare you should totally check Spendette out. They have a great Instagram account and are on Facebook too.

Thanks to Splendette for the use of her Photos too xxx

Wish List Wednesday - Mary's Milk Bar Easter Egg

This months Wish List Wednesday is Easter themed! I am quite literally drooling over these Easter eggs from Mary's Milk Bar in the Grassmarket. They popped up on my Instagam yesterday, 'Dark or Milk Chocolate swirled egg filled with Salted Caramel mini eggs and Hazelnut Praline Acorns dipped in Olive Oil Toasted Hazelnuts'. How amazing does that sound?
Beautiful Decor
Mary opened her Milk Bar on the Grassmarket in the center of Edinburgh a couple years ago now after studying Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, Italy. She really seems to enjoy mixing up flavours to create interesting and delicious combinations like, Chilli and Pineapple, Spicy Sriracha and Almond and Goats Cheese and Fig. They also serve vegan sorbet and other tasty flavours of gelato such as Cherry Bakewell, Salted Caramel and, my favorite, Pistachio.
Along side these tasty chilly sensations you'll find a selection of hot chocolates, malted milkshakes, chocolate bars and selection boxes. As well as seasonal treats like the Easter eggs, but also Valentines and Christmas bombs. They also team up with the very popular Twelve Triangles every Friday to create the 'Doughnut Oyster' which is your choice of gelato in a freshly made Twelve Triangles sugared doughnut, Eilidh in my office and I treated ourselves to one of these last summer and they are too die for. You've got to be quick though because they only have 20 doughnuts delivered and once they are gone they gone.
My delicious Pistachio gelato filled doughnut!
The shop is tastefully decorated in a vintage style of the Milk Bar era, muted pastels with 1940's music and ice cream cone lamps on the wall. They even have a working 60 year old milkshake maker behind the counter. It really is like a wee trip back to a more wholesome time.

With queues out the door on the summer months everyone should head down and support our local maker... but please leave an Easter egg for me!
